FACEBOOK, TWITTER DISCUSSION GROUP

Thanks to Gary for the good class, on social networking, facebook and twit.
Goal is to create a discussion group.  Gary denies being an expert in this
field.  Handout is available via email.  Plan is for First Tuesday, Third
Monday, 8:30am, Tolovana.  Next meeting July 20.  Thanks to Jim and Tolovana
crew for their hospitality.

 

NEW VISITOR MAP

At info center.  Designed primarily for "information givers", not
specifically to sit on everyone's counter.  Usual scenario would be
something like, "we're here (circle) and you want to go here (circle)."
First pages list every business in town.  Coded for area: D=downtown,
M=midtown, T=tolovana, etc.  then followed by detailed area maps.
Suggestions: restrooms on each map, evacuation routes.  Email suggestions to
Gary and he will transmit the list to the Map committee.  Wendy suggested a
Thank You card to the city.  20,000 first printing.  Second printing date
probably in the Fall.

 

WOMEN ONLY WEEKEND

contact Wendy or Tracy if you want your business to be involved.  November
event, pre-Thanksgiving.  Idea is to boost a slow weekend.

 

FALL CELEBRATION

Wendy suggests a barbeque or something in September to acknowledge surviving
the summer.

 

STORMY WEATHER

First weekend in November.  Tracy Abel is coordinator.  First organizing
meeting this Thursday 9am at the Chamber.   Linda Hornbuckle scheduled guest
artist for the weekend. 

 

MUSIC FESTIVAL CONCEPT

Jenee has started a list of musicians.  Probably needs to go through
Marketing committee of Chamber for further development.

 

CALENDAR COORDINATION

Tracy suggests coordinating dates and ideas through the Marketing committee
of the Chamber.  Coordination and cross-information is increasing and that's
great.  January is a rough month weather-wise for people getting here.

 

FLAME-BOUYANT & FOURTH OF JULY

Flame show well received.  Many thanks to Watt for his efforts.

Cannon Beach is on the leading edge with 'non polluting' celebrations.
People starting to acknowledge importance of less polluting celebrations.
Bend had a dog parade, had 4,500 dogs in this years parade.  Could we do
that on a weekend other than the Fourth?
