1. New Fall Issue Coast Explorer Magazine: Gary Hayes discussed and
distributed the Fall edition of the Coast Explorer magazine. This is the
12th anniversary issue with over 10,000 copies to the metro area. Beautiful

2. Farmers Market, Next Tuesday, September 28th will be this year's final
Cannon Beach Farmers Market. Next week the Market will feature a special
group of artists and an after-market party for the vendors.
3. CRBJ Business of Aging. The most recent edition of the Coast River
Business Journal is hot off the press. CRBJ is promoting a special section

4. The Cannon Beach Choir is revitalized and has begun rehearsals for
the Christmas season. Rehearsals take place every Monday at 6:30 at
Community Presbyterian. Songs of the Season
Winter Concert 2010 are scheduled for Sunday, November 28, 3:00 PM Nehalem
United Methodist Church, Nehalem, OR and Thursday, December 2, 7:00 PM

5. Stormy Weather Festival flyers are available. Bronze Coast Gallery on
Friday evening (Stormy Weather Festival weekend) will host a wine tasting
from Sinclair Estate Vineyards, and beer tasting from Noble Brewing.

6. WOW Weekend - Details are being finalized - please submit events to
both the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce www.cannonbeach.org and Coast
Explorer Magazine www.coastexplorermagazine.com so they can be added to the
event calendars.
7. Business Pulse: Bob Neroni, EVOO - Looking good through October 4th.
Many German and Italian visitors. Lush Wine Bar featuring an "open mike"
every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9. Jim K says Ice Fire September business
is soft - off about 10% year to date but hope for a string finish to the
year. Michael B. from a Merchants eye view used the term "cautiously
optimistic" and according to Patrick N - an article in USA Today declared
and end to the economic recession in June.
8. ORLA Annual Conference: Wendy Higgins reported on the Oregon
Restaurant and Lodging Association conference in Bend this past week. She
indicated hospitality business in Oregon is down over all and that Wayne
Poole of Pig and Pancake fame was named "Oregon Restaurant operator of the

9. Stephanie A. mentioned there is no sign representing Cannon Beach
along highway 26 in metro Portland when directing motorists to "Beaches".
Only Seaside and Astoria. Discussion of potential outreach.
10. Home Owners Insurance Review, Linda Dugan mentioned that insurance rates
have become very competitive and suggested it would be a good idea to review
your current policy.
11. Chamber Update - Tim K discussed his recent visit to New York City and
the amount of non English speaking tourists he encountered (German and
Italian). Stressed the importance of consistent communication with
membership and the future board meetings will consist of recognizing annual
sponsors.
12. Business after hours - Starts up again and the October event will be
hosted by Sue Meyers and the Lands End Motel on Wednesday October 13th .
13. SOLV Beach Cleanup - Beach Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday at 10am -
Meet at City hall. www.solv.org.
14. Michael Burgess tribute - Michael Burkett notes that there will be an on
air tribute this Friday at 9:30 am on KMUN celebrating the life of Michael
Burgess.
15. CRBJ is featuring story on "Lush" wine bar out today.
16. Next Wednesday Morning Meeting - September 29, 2010, Mo's, 8am. Mo's is
now closed for breakfast for the season. Bring your own coffee cup. The
coffee is still courtesy of Mo's.
