Wendy reported on TAC and listed who received what amounts. This
information can be found on the
Chamber website.
Patrick noted that the funds were not an entitlement for an
organization, but that they had to meet very specific
criteria.
It was noted what a challenge to evaluate, and George commented also the
challenge of evaluating the effectiveness
of the use of the funds.
Robin suggested some might combine Art with a group for lodging to apply.
The City if considering work on the bridge by the school and City Hall
to prepare them for a Tsunami. All interested
parties should attend City Council and Chamber meetings for input.
Jeff reported that 877,000 people were exposed to the Seattle PI spread
on CB for Stormy Weather Arts Festival
Also, SWAF Spotlight concert at The Coaster Nov 6 at 7:30 has tickets
available, and that there are some tickets available for
Quick Draw.
Holiday wreath making event is held at the Chamber on Nov. 27th the
Saturday after Thanksgiving. Call Chamber for tickets.
Tracy asked for information as to how we can measure the success of ads
placed in Seattle area, PDX etc.
Patrick invited all to The Lodges at Cannon Beach Wednesday, Nov 10 at
4:30pm. for Business After Hours.
He noted that the school levy passed.
John of CB Chorus reported that after a visit from CCC President, they
inquired about a task force/groupfrom Cannon Beach
to consider suggestions for the college's course program development
that would help the needs of people in CB.
John also reported that they would be using their TAC funds to hold a
chorus symposium/festival weekend next year to bring many chorus groups
here.
Several venues available, but not all able to handle larger than groups
of 40.
He said they learned from all participants about grant writing.
Several people reported on the happenings for Stormy Weather weekend,
which can also be found on the Chamber website and posted
around town.
Town is not totally booked as yet, but Wendy reported many people now
waiting til last minute. Many places are "stuffed" for Thanksgiving
already, which is good news.
Wendy reported on WOW and events and places holding special sales will
be listed on WOW website: womensonlyweekend.net
Look for signs in the windows of places participating.
The Providence Hospital Foundation Festival of Trees is Dec. 4th with
gingerbread house contest and a Shane Dean playhouse to be auctioned.
Cannon Beach Haystack Holidays of Dec. 1 - 10th with many events planned
over many days We will have more information next week regarding
concert etc.
The LampLighting will be at 4p.m. Saturday Dec. 4th - another special year.
Partick suggested we invite someone from City of CB, perhaps Rich Mays,
to next meeting to report on "State of City"
Will Leroux of Wayfarer was selected at IRON CHEF.
George said election results would be posted on cannon-beach.net
