1. Cruz Flores: The Spruce Street water main replacement project originally scheduled for this fall will take place primarily next fall, but preliminary work will take place this fall starting Tuesday. Currently the drainage ditch along the east side of Spruce Street is being cleared.
2. CarolHun: Stormy Weather Arts Festival’s Saturday night concert at Coaster Theater is Tom Grant – walking the line between jazz tradition and modern pop. 730pm Coaster Theater $20. Call for tickets – 503-436-2623.
3. BrentD: Tickets are still available for the SWAF Quickdraw Event. Twelve artists will be featured. Also included will be a silent auction of photography representing approximately 7 photographers. Call 503-436-2623 or e-mail chamber at cannonbeach.org.

6. JimK: Icefire Glassworks will be setting up downtown behind CB Treasure Co for 4 days over Stormy Weather Arts Festival
7. PrudenceF: The annual Miniature Show opens at CB Gallery on SWAF weekend. All art is 6”x6” or smaller. The Saturday night artist reception will include the drawing for the raffle of 16 prints. http://www.cannonbeacharts.org/exhibit.php#upcoming.
8. Shawna Sykes: Oregon Employment Department: Clatsop County Unemployment for Aug was 7.5%. At the same time Oregon was at 9.3%. Both these figures are improvement from a year ago. Local populations are estimated at Cannon Beach 1695, Seaside 6460, Gearhart 1465, Warrenton 5000 and Astoria 9475. For job listings see www.WorkingInOregon.org.
9. CarolHun: Scott Cruickshank and Tim Krupa left the Chamber Board recently and at yesterday’s meeting, Rich Mays (City) and Lisa Sarish (Mo’s) were appointed. Their terms run till the next election in June. The Board is rounded out by Carol Hungerford (Pres), Kristine Gottsch (VP), George Vetter (Treas), Tracy Abel, Jim McDonald, Brian Olson & Kristen Allsop. 10. There will be a City Potluck at the Chamber regarding the Trail. – Monday October 24, 6pm
11. BrentD: Chamber of Commerce invites all CBC members to attend any/all meetings. We need your opinions and advice on various topics plus you can take on projects and directly impact CBC results and revenues for CB.

13. BrentD: The Chamber’s highly anticipated website is less than a month away from being rolled out. Members can expect to get an e-mail in the next week with info for online training. Training will also be offered by Brent and Sharon at the Chamber. brent at cannonbeach.org.
14. GeorgeV: new Chamber treasurer: All Cannon Beach businesses benefit from the work of the Chamber. The Chamber is financed primarily by member dues and sponsorships. To increase the financial health of your business, give your financial support to the Chamber along with your time and expertise on the committee of your choice.
15. GeorgeV: Schooners Cove has taken over Haystack Resort in Tolovana and is bringing it back to life as The Wayside Inn. See www.thewayside-inn.com
16. GeorgeV: Realtor Sally Conrad reports that the Purple Pelican Building (formerly the Criterion) has sold. The buyer intends the renovation to include apartments and retail.
17. GeorgeV: The liquidation sale at El Mundo is almost over. George Vetter FotoArt will be occupying the space for SWAF. The El Mundo business is still for sale. There are both downstairs and upstairs spaces for lease at Village Centre. george at cannon-beach.net 503-739-1415
