9. GaryH: Savor Cannon Beach is March 8-11. Send your info to info at savorcannonbeach.com. Find info on twitter – savorcb and on Facebook – savorcannonbeach.
10. GaryH: Savor NorthWest is an idea that Gary is rolling out today. It is a wine competition to crown the best wine. It will precede Savor Cannon Beach and serve as a lead into it. www.savorNW.com
11. GaryH: The ad deadline for Cannon Beach Magazine is past, but if you get to Gary now, you can still get in. gary at coastexplorermagazine.com
12. GaryH: It’s time to push the remaining CB Magazines out the door. Ideally, the 2011 magazines are gone up just as the new ones arrive. Pick up a stack for your business at the Chamber and get them into the hands of visitors so they don’t end up at the Cannon Beach Recycle Depot.
13. WendyH: The quarter ending Sept 30th saw a 4% increase in Lodging tax. Some of this increase is because it was just a year ago that the tax was increased by 1% and rooms that were booked prior to the effective date were exempt from the increase.
14. WendyH: The City potluck is Monday Dec 12 at 6pm at the Chamber Community Hall. Learn more about the Tsunami options.
15. GeorgeV: The last 15 minutes of WMMs will be devoted to social media/networking. The goal is to better leverage social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) for our events and our businesses. Part of the time will be spent learning from each other and part posting and sharing info.
16. GaryH: Using Facebook as a broadcast station for one’s own business is not enough. It’s important to “like” other businesses, “comment” on their sites and “share” posts from their sites. This serves to spread the info to many more people. You are helping yourself at the same time you are helping others.
17. GeorgeV: Mo’s does not have WiFi. Alex says there are no plans to get it. George will ask Jim at Tolovana Inn if WMMs can take place there so WiFi can be used for the social networking.
18. Shop Small, Shop Local. Mention this promotion at George Vetter FotoArt for some very special locals pricing. Ask for Lo.
Next Wednesday Morning Meeting – Dec 14, 2011, Mo’s, 8am. Bring an Internet device and bring your own coffee cup. Coffee and tea provided courtesy of Mo’s.

13. GeorgeV: In a recent CB Magazine Review, I suggested including a QR code next to the Chamber web address. All business should be including QR codes on their printed materials. (explained at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code) I generated one for Cannon-Beach.Net at http://qrcode.kaywa.com. To get a QR Code Reader for your smartphone, go to your app store. The free one I downloaded has ads at the bottom of the screen. Google “QR Code generator” to find a site to generate a QR code for your site. JonR: Try to find a site that includes analytics so you can track usage. Note: The site Rob and Jon mentioned – www.bit.ly, it not a QR Generator, but rather a site to shorten a URL – similar to www.tinyurl.com
