Hi folks,

I appreciate your efforts to strengthen the economy of our beloved
community. Though I haven't been able to attend the Wednesday morning
meetings, I have contributed in my own way to the betterment of our
village and surrounds. Mostly this has been through conversations at the
bookstore -- with visitors who I hope will come to love this place as much
as I do; and with locals who need to improve our lot and get along.

Last year I decided to extend this conversation by reviving the Upper Left
Edge. Many of you remember the printed edition of this funky community
newspaper. Founding publisher Billy Hults was one of the first folks to
offer a home for my writing, when I was a visitor to Cannon Beach with
family connections. I am now hoping to pass that gift along.
