6. NalaC: The puffins on the Sandcastle poster are a hybrid that does not
exist in nature. Puffins with tufts (ours) have black bellies. Puffins with
white bellies (Atlantic Ocean) do not have tufts. The puffins on the poster
have tufts and white bellies. Artistic license is at work here. We do have
white bellied birds at Haystack Rock, but they are murres. As for our
puffins, they are slow in coming back this year. Only 6 have been counted so
far whereas in 2010 more than 100 were here by now. Nala thinks it too early
for alarm.

Wendy 503-440-1995. Register online at http://tinyurl.com/6nrbgre.
9. KatieV: Tom Horning, North Coast Land Conservancy board member, joined
Katie today. The removal of the dike at Circle Creek to alleviate flooding
on Hwy 101 is not a litigation or mitigation but rather a cooperation with
the State. Material which was pushed up to create the dike will be pushed
back where it came from.
10. KathyK: Is the Childrens Center going to get the funding it needs?
KatieV: Parent of a student there. The Center is the only State accredited
one between Warrenton and Nehalem. It serves much more than Cannon Beach.
Approx $60k comes from the City Cannon Beach. No other city is supporting it
currently, but the goal is to change that. The cost to students would be
double if not for subsidies. Tom Horning says as a member of the Seaside
Park and Rec, he know they are looking at possibly budgeting $20k for it.
11. GeorgeV: Printing of head and shoulder life-size portraits for Spring
Unveiling at George Vetter FotoArt is about half way done. Portraits of

healthy communities of people, plants and wildlife can all thrive. The group

a letter to chamberboard at cbor.us.

3. GeorgeV: City Council has a TAC worksession scheduled for April 10th at
530pm at City Hall. This meeting is to review and discuss the use and
distribution on funds from the City Lodging tax. WendyH: A challenge that
recipient groups have had is getting the money in time for their event and
in potentially not getting what was expected due to a drop in lodging
occupancy. Suggestion is to not fund event with too little lead time and to
budget and fund from money in hand rather than an estimate. At question is
how much should be spent on an event itself vs the promotion of that event.

printer. Too heavy and big to get up the stairs, it had to be unpacked in a
parking spot and in the rain, with the help of David Marshall, Kim Barnett,
Luke and Paula, it was muscled upstairs where it will be put into action

15. GeorgeV: How the Other Half Loves opened last weekend and runs through
Apr 22 at Coaster Theatre. In this brilliantly crafted, hilarious comedy,
two couples in their own homes, the Fosters and the Phillipses, are visible
to us but not to each other. That the characters cross so blithely into
each other's spaces is an apt metaphor for the double-dealings brought on by
illicit affairs. Telephone calls are made to the wrong wife or husband;
idiotic conversations or hang-ups abound. When the hapless Featherstones
are invited to dinner, Ayckbourn's strategic ploys step up another
unbelievable notch. http://www.coastertheatre.com/OtherHalf.html
