communities in Clatsop County, Oregon, and clothed 550 children. All money
goes to the children. 750 children were assisted in the last year.

Cathy Higgins - new at EVOO. Cathy will be attending WMM's on behalf of
EVOO. www.EVOO.biz.

2. GeorgeV: Evacuation Route Walks led by Nancy Giasson meet each Friday
at 930am at the Community Church on Hemlock at Washington. Each walk is from
a different location in town. There is not telling where you might be.
These walks are to familiarize people with how to get to safe high ground in
the event of a near earthquake. Once the ground stops shaking, it is
estimated that a tsunami will follow in a matter of minutes - 20. Valuable
information is shared on these walks about the container program, safe
houses, go bags, etc. Links to George's photos and Nancy's notes from prior
walks can be found at www.Cannon-Beach.net/events/EvacuationRouteWalk.

3. JohnB: Cannon Beach Chorus presents Weather or Not - a cabaret
performance - Fri/Sat July 13/14 at 7pm at Tolovana Inn, featuring Paul
Dueber, emcee. Tickets $20 single. $120 table for eight. Food and beverage
included in ticket price. www.cannonbeachchorus.org.

4. JeneeP: The special July 7th Beach Cleanup had 86 adults and 23 kids as
signed up participants. The city paid for the dumpster. Jenee has bags and
gloves for those wanting to pitch in with an ongoing effort to keep debis
off our beaches. The new debris bags will have blue print. The state 211
Debris Hotline number was not working yesterday. (It is working now, I just
checked it) Email jenee at pacificalarmsystem.com.

5. Sharon/Valerie: Sharon wants to bring back the Christmas Shoppers Bus
from several years ago that Valerie and Julie organized. The cost for the
bus is $25 per person with an average capacity of around 50. Wendy
suggested calling the Leavenworth Chamber as they do this regularly. She is
organizing a bus for WOW. Valerie suggested promoting it through the email
lists of our businesses. Contact sharon at cannonbeach.org with ideas,
suggestions and to volunteer.

6. SteveS: The Wine Shack has opened the upstairs to daily 1-5pm $5 wine
tastings (except Tuesdays when he's at Farmer's Market). The room can
accommodate groups up to 25 and has wifi. Steve has access to 1000's of
wines in every price range. If you are buying your wine elsewhere and think
you are getting a better price than what you can get locally, go talk to
Steve and he will aim to fix that. The Wine Shack is open till 9p on Fri &
Sat thru Labor Day. 503-436-1100 www.beachwine.com

7. ValerieR: Anyone with something they want to see Valerie address in her
Daily Astorian article can email suggestions to info at cannonbeachbooks.com

8. JeneeP/LisaH: 24 Paws & A Tale - Natural beach biscuits for dogs. Home
baked by Lisa. Organic Whole Wheat, Organic Brown Rice Flour or Grain Free &
Wheat Free. www.24beachpaws.com 503-899-0449 24beachpaws at myway.com.

9. Thanks to Mo's for hosting our Wednesday Morning Meetings. This is a
community service that deserves recognition.

10. AnthonyI: The Cannon Beach Book authored by Donny Masterson and Adam
Carlsen is being offered wholesale for $9.95 to businesses who want to offer

at Bella Espresso. You can talk to James about it there.

11. JeneeP: Relay For Life July 14 10am thru 15 10 am - Seaside High School.

may use the same link. You can bring your plastic donation bottles to the
WMM or e-mail jenee at pacificalarmsystem.com. for pick up from now until July
13th.

12. SharonV: Plans for the 2012 Stormy Weather Arts Festival (SWAF) are
underway. Troy Crowe, new Chamber Board Member from the Ocean Lodge, is
looking for committee members and ideas for this 25th Annual Event. Some
galleries and artists have expressed disappointment in the prices being paid
for auction items at the Quickdraw event on Friday night. Troy has expressed
the desire to work on getting the right people to the event and promoting it
more as a benefit. With fewer artists and therefore more room for people and
table rather than concert seating he thinks the auction will return better
results. GeorgeV: Stormy Weather Arts Festival has been the Chamber's best
income producing event for many years. This past year was not nearly as
good. Ever since the economy has begun to stumble, the event has seen
diminishing returns - mostly because of bidding at the auction. Income from
the event, including sponsor money, pays for the event. Without the auction
or something to replace the income it generates, the event would not be
economically feasible. Contact chamber at cbor.us. Note: next Chamber Board
Meeting is Tuesday July 18 at 845am at the Chamber.

Next Wednesday Morning Meeting - July 18, 2012, Mo's, 8am. Bring your own
coffee cup. Coffee is provided courtesy of Mo's.

3. Jennifer: Week three of the Farmer's Market had a good turnout.
1100 people shopped 15 vendors while about 12 volunteers helped out. A new
vendor - The Juice Box - served smoothies and other drinks. Music and lunch
begins at 1pm and quite a few folks are showing up for that. The Farmer's
Market is open on Tuesdays from June 12 through September 25, opening at
1:00 with music, prepared food, and community booths. All other vendors
open at 2:00, and the market closes at 5:00. Community booths are for local
non-profits. They are free and come with tents, tables and chairs.
www.cannonbeachmarket.org.

2. George: Plein Air & More kicked of Friday with the Meet and Greet the
artists show at the Chamber. The hall was converted to a first class gallery
with track lighting standing walls throughout. The place filled as the doors
opened and it was festive as wine and lite bites were served. Saturday the
painting and creating began in the rain at 11a at designated places around
town, but mostly in the galleries because of the weather. Volunteers in red
vests were on the street to answer questions. About mid afternoon, the rain
subsided and gave way to a beautiful afternoon and evening. The show at the
Chamber continued on Saturday. Galleries hosted receptions from 5-7p and
later on Saturday showcasing the completed works of their artists. Sunday -
artists continued to paint and create around town while Saturday's completed
works were featured at the Chamber. Find the link to Plein Air & More photos
at www.cannon-beach.net.

3. BrianO: The Ocean Lodge has volunteered to be the July afterhours
recipient of calls for lodging vacancy. During business hours, call the
Information Center (503-436-2623) to advise if you have vacancies. At
closing, Sharon will advise the Ocean Lodge (503-436-2241) and post their
phone on the door at the Info Ctr. www.cannonbeach.org

4. GeorgeV: At an organizational meeting last night at city hall,
volunteers signed up to help with removal of debris from our beaches. More
volunteers are needed. It is estimated that tons of debris will land here
over the months and years ahead. Four categories of debris include 1. Litter
and other typical marine debris. Pick up info sheets and bags at city hall
and collect these items and leave the bag(s) secured at the high tide line.
2. Vessel or other large items. Call 911 or US Coast Guard 510-437-3701. 3.
Mementos or Possessions Call 888-953-1677. 4. Hazardous Materials Call
800-424-8802. It is important to keep the beach debis separate from our
local garbage so the volume can be tracked and reported to state and federal
official. Assistance will likely be needed to cope with expected volume of
debris. Locally contact city manager Rich Mays 503-436-8050
mays at ci.cannon-beach.or.us.

5. Tufted Puffins: Two tufted puffins showed up at the meeting accompanied
by StacyB. One spoke cockney English. They were on hand to call attention to
the Great Cannon Beach Puffin Watch over the Independence Day Holiday at
Haystack Rock - July 3-5 from 7-10am. The puffin count at the Rock at this
point is 19 - down from more than 100 in past years. No obvious reason has
been agreed upon. But these birds are active so with the help of HRAP
volunteers and scopes, you will be able to see them during low tides next
week and in the weeks to come. www.friendsofhaystackrock.org. Or

festivities include a strawberry shortcake sale on the porch U.S. Bank
starting at 10 a.m. (before the parade) by Cannon Beach Chapter FB, P.E.O

4. Jennifer: Week two of the Farmer's Market was so much better than
Week one due to much improved weather. 835 people shopped 15 vendors while
13 volunteers helped out. The strawberries were excellent and a new vendor -
The Honey Pit - was a big hit. Carol commented what a fun place it is to
volunteer. Jennifer passed out $5 market tokens which can be purchased at
city hall and at the market with credit cards. Please let folks know that
the Farmer's Market is open on Tuesdays from June 12 through September 25,
opening at 1:00 with music, prepared food, and community booths. All other

with a show, wine and lite bites. Saturday the painting and creating begins
at 11a at designated places around town. Volunteers in red vests will be on
the street to answer questions. The show at the Chamber continues Saturday

3. BrianO: Lodging meeting tomorrow June 21st at 530pm at Sea Breeze
House. The address is 131 W. Nebesna. Coordination of who will be taking
calls after the Information Center is close for the day. A phone number will
be posted on the door at the Chamber. Brian will look into getting a number
that can always be used and forwarded to different numbers as needed.

4. SharonV: When searching Google for Cannon Beach Chamber, the wrong info
comes up. Sharon has been working to have this fixed, but finding where and
how to do so is like finding a needle in a haystack.

5. CarolHun: Sharon Major (Stephanie Inn), Troy Crowe (Ocean Lodge) and
Sheri Russell (Bank of Astoria) are the new board members at the Chamber.
The nine member board also consists of Carol Hungerford, Brian Olson, George
Vetter, Tracy Abel, Christen Allsop and Robin Risley. New board members are
seated at the July 17th meeting.

6. CarolHun: Troy Crowe has stepped up to head the Stormy Weather Arts
Festival committee with the help of Tracy Abel. Committee member are being
sought. Contact chamber at cbor.us. There was much discussion about Friday's
night's Quick Draw event. This event is a money-maker for the Chamber. Some
galleries have complained that the declining amounts received by the
auctioned art devalues the work of participating artists and that their
artists no longer want to participate. Locals, who used to attend and bid
items up to support the Chamber in this fundraiser have not been showing up.
The committee will be looking at ways to energize the evening. Those
attending have enjoyed the evening. The entrance fee of $55 individual and
$99 couple includes food and one glass of wine although free pours are known
to take place on occasion.

7. CarmenS: 2nd Annual Children's Summer Music Camp With Concert Rock
