added. The next EPREP forum will be Mon Oct 29 at 7p at the Coaster.

community. Last year, $35,000 was returned to the community for services
rendered in event production - more than was received in the TAF grant.

1. GeorgeV: The first Cannon Beach Photo Review took place this past
weekend. Friday night was the opening and reception of the October exhibit
at Cannon Beach Gallery including works of the 20 Photographers and 10
Reviewers. An estimated 50 people crowded into the gallery for the show and
the spread of food and wine. Saturday was the first of two review days at
Tolovana Inn. Photographer's were scheduled with up to nine 30-minute
sessions with reviewers to review images and get feedback and ideas. All
participants were on their own for meals. Reviews went from 9am to 430pm.
Photographers had time between scheduled reviews to mingle or go out to
shoot or explore. Saturday evening was the social event at the Chamber
including panel discussion about photography led by Denver's Katie Taft.
Reviews continued on Sunday followed by Excursion led by Cory Burnett, Julie
Adams and George Vetter. In spite of the very wet weekend, all participants
reviewed their experience favorably. Photographers and reviewers came from
as far away as Denver and San Francisco.
2. GeorgeV: Because of a miscommunication, the TAC did not allocate any of
the $245K to a 2013 Photo Review. A special meeting took place yesterday
(Tuesday) between the TAC and the CBPR committee. Organizer Don Frank
pointed out that in a survey he conducted with participants, 86 paid room
nights were generated. The Cannon Beach Photo Review Facebook page
accumulated nearly 1100 followers and the website -
www.CannonBeachPhotoReview.com - spread the word further. TAC members
expressed concern that the event was too "narrow" in its appeal and draw.
KathyK/JimK/JohnB/JamesF: Seems that this event brings as much, if not more,
to the community as the Yoga Festival, especially considering that these are
photographers, publishers, and curators who will use Cannon Beach
photographs in the days, weeks, months and even years ahead.
3. SharonV: Cannon Beach has been voted Best Little Beach Town by readers
of the Oregonian and Oregon Live.

9. GeorgeV: Statistics about traffic in Cannon Beach has always been a
matter of opinion and speculation. Traffic counters on our roads, especially
at the entrances and exits would greatly assist businesses and event holders
in knowing the facts and in comparing one day, week, month, event to
another. Jason will see what can be done.
10. KathyK/MargoD: Evening shoppers are out, but consistently asking why so
many stores close at 5 and 6pm. The business is there if people are open.
WendyH says more guests at the Ocean Lodge would be shopping/strolling
downtown if more stores were open. There is just one month left to take
advantage of peak season. The sales that are done this time of year after
6pm will very likely surpass what can be done on any day in Jan or Feb and
many days in Dec and Mar. Try it!
