Willis' energy and enthusiasm. Portlandblues.com writes of Willis, [hearing
her] was like going back in time to 1992 and hearing Sheryl Crow for the
first time. Just one girl (as near to an angel as you can get) and a
guitar. Tickets are $10 Adults & $2 Children

15. GeorgeV: www.Cannon-Beach.Net is in its 14 year. With approx 110
clients, hundreds of links and thousands of images, the site had more than a
million successful page requests last year. The busiest day of the week was
Monday and the busiest hours were between 9 & 11 am. The slowest days were
Saturdays and Sundays. Google was far and away the #1 referrer with 266,000
while Bing came in at 18,000 and Yahoo at 4,000. Carol Hungerford won a
12x18 print from George for being the closest to guess how many clickthrus
the #1 client, Schooners Cove, received. The correct answer was 18,511.
Carol guessed close at 19,000. Cannon-Beach.Nets home page has undergone a
make-over and was shown on the big screen in the room. A new Feature Photo
is put up daily and prior images are archived. The Feature Photo is also
uploaded to www.FaceBook.com/cannonbeachnet. The Home page makeover will
gradually carry over to other pages. With this new Home page layout, there
may be opportunity for individual business exposure in the future. A notice
on the home page states: Our Cannon Beach listings include all Cannon Beach
businesses, organizations, etc. If you notice anything missing, please let
us know. Listings are free. Links are still just $60 per year plus 1.5
cents per clickthru. Additional exposure is available for those wanting to
stand out including rotating banners on the Lodging and the Real Estate
pages. Both are limited to just 6 listings and both have one available at
this time. A list of the sites key pages, sorted by annual requests, was
passed out. The main Lodging page had 175,700 requests followed by Home
124,500, Weather 52,900, Webcam 41,000, Lodging Ocean Front 38,500, etc.
16. KathyK: La Luna Loca is seeking a full time employee. Contact
info at lalunaloca.com.
17. PatF: There are currently about 8 properties under contract (buyers &
sellers have agreed on price). This is a nice improvement. Another good sign
is the list-to-sell percentage. Homes are selling for closer to the asking
price now than last year. 80-90%
18. AnthonyR: Our local Charging Station (at the RV Park on 101) is up and
running. Electric cars, at a cost, can charge before heading home or along
the coast.

near quake tsunami. Stage 1 of the Container program has two containers up
the hill on Elk Creek Road where residents and businesses have and can
purchase 5 gallon, 30 gallon and/or 55 gallon containers to stock with
supplies that will be available in an emergency. Two more Container sites
are planned. The city is working with the county to be able to issue an all
clear after a tsunami warning. EPREP has more outreach meetings planned
at the Coaster Theatre. Bill encouraged people to go to
http://connectipedia.org/Tsunami_Response_Cannon_Beach to find current info.
The page will be updated. If you would like to receive direct e-mail from
EPREP or want to schedule a session, contact Bill at npotrooper at live.com.
3. JimK/GeorgeV: We need to put our visitors at ease about a tsunami by
letting them know that we are prepared. Cannon Beach is a leader on the
coast in preparing for a near quake tsunami. We dont want to hide that, but
we also dont want to frighten visitors, both current and potential. We want
to be known first and foremost as a great getaway where nature, beauty,
romance, art and quality of life abound.

1. New to WMM this morning
Marcus Hinz Executive Director - Oregon Coast Visitors Assn (OCVA).
OCVA (in its 13th year) is a member driven association promoting the entire
Oregon Coast. There is no office, Marcus works alone from his home in
Oceanside and on the road. The 10-member board (President Sue Meyers
Lands End Cannon Beach) meets quarterly as does the Executive Board. Oregon
is divided into seven tourism regions. Each region has identified one
Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) to act as its Regional Destination
Marketing Organization. The RDMO partners with Travel Oregon (funded by
State Lodging Tax dollars) for the purpose of attracting visitors to their
specific region. OCVA is our RDMO Regional Destination Marketing
Organization. Currently, of great interest to Cannon Beach, Marcus is
working on an Oregon Coast Public Art Trail which will be promoted on
their website www.ThePeoplesCoast.com. OCVA publishes The Official Oregon
Coast Visitors Guide (www.VisitTheOregonCoast.com) from which it derives
some revenue. Dues are being restructured from the flat $500 to something
scalable that will be attractive to a wider range of businesses. The website
had 480,000 visitors last year and www.Facebook.com/ThePeoplesCoast has
56,000 likes. 541-264-0543 director at thepeoplescoast.com
