4. EricJ/MargoD: The Bistro Restaurant is to reopen this weekend - a year
after the 2012 fire. The all-new 2013 Bistro of Matt and Anita Dueber will
have a whole new menu. 503-436-2661

5. EricJ: Jason Schermerhorn and Jeff Womack have joined Tracy Abel (Pres),
Steve Sinkler (VP), Sheri Russell (Secr), George Vetter (Treas) Christen
Allsop, Robin Risley, and Brian Olson on the Chamber Board. Regular monthly
board meeting are third Tuesdays at 9am at the Chamber and are open to the
public.

6. WendyH: More people are needed for the WOW committee. This event (Nov
8-10 this year) has gained momentum each year. Contact
wendy at theoceanlodge.com.

7. KathyK: La Luna Loca is hiring – both for the Cannon Beach store and for
the soon to open Astoria store in the Liberty Theatre Building. Contact
info at lalunaloca.com

8. ElaineM: Our cannon has reached Texas A&M for its conservation make-over.
It may take a year to complete. It will then come home to the History
Center.

9. NancyMc: The Gazette comes out every other Thursday. A fresh one hits
the streets this weekend. It is now free and distributed throughout town.

10. WendyH: Lodging is not full. Most lodging have rooms available. Weekends
are filling up last minute. EricJ/SharonV: Visitor counts at the Info Ctr
are down. MargoD/KathyK: Retail is spotty – a good day followed by a
not-so-good day.

11. JohnB: The Cannon Beach Chorus will perform Saturday (July 20) in
Nehalem at the United Methodist Church BBQ. The BBQ is at 6pm and the
Performance is at 7pm. www.cannonbeachchorus.org.

12. DanG: The city is faced with the unenviable job of keeping people safe
by keeping sidewalks clear. When traffic gets thick, both on the street and
the sidewalk, danger looms when pedestrians step off the curb to get around
people and vegetation blocking their passage. Dan, being new and being
sensitive to the beauty of the flowers and landscaping cascading off private
property onto sidewalk right-of-ways, is being careful to avoid any hard
feelings. If your property is involved, you can do your part to improve
public safety and become Dan’s immediate friend by cutting your landscaping
back off the sidewalk.

13. GeorgeV: Giclee is a French term to refer to images that are printed on
an ink-jet-technology printer. Images at George Vetter FotoArt are giclees –
some on canvas, some on paper. The focus of the gallery is changing to
larger, canvas images and to make room, existing images are being offered at
discounts of up to 70%. It’s a storewide sale. Many of these images will not
be reprinted – making them one-of-a-kind. The gallery is open daily from
around noon to 5 or 6pm, but George can be reached for a special showing by
calling him at 503-739-1415.

3. SheriR: Tomorrow (Thursday) at 830am at the Chamber is a meeting of the
Stormy Weather Arts Festival Committee. If you are able to help with any
aspect of this year’s event, please contact eric at cannonbeach.org. George

wavey “artistic” one was the unanimous winner – as it was at yesterday’s
Gallery Group meeting.

4. LauriM: Ohana Media Group has launched KLMY – Clammy 99.7 – “All the
music you dig”. This adult female radio station will cover Clatsop and
Pacific Counties with fun pop music at 25,000 watts. It targets adult women

again. Gallery hours are around noon to 5, but a call to George at
503-739-1415 can get you in at your convenience.

9. KathyK: The Chamber Marketing Committee created an event survey which
was used during the June 15th Sandcastle event. Fifty-two surveys were
completed. We need to find ways to get more surveys completed for more
events so we can better target/focus our marketing. Surveys are available
thru the Chamber.

10. GeorgeV/WendyH: The parade crowd appeared less deep this year, but since
it was spread out all along Spruce Street and on Hemlock at the way to the
Legion, it is hard to judge if the crowd was smaller than other years. The
weather was good. The North Coast Symphonic Band concert in the park was
great, but had a small crowd compared to the 300-400 people estimated to
have enjoyed the firedancers – Flamebuoyant. SheriR: Thanks Joyce Lincoln
and Bob Necker (Northwest By Northwest Gallery) for soliciting the sponsors
(see below) who paid for the firedancers. Find the 2013 Photos link to

3. Billie JoeE: Sunday was the biggest day Mo’s has ever had in Cannon
Beach. George polled hotels representing more than 1000 rooms and none had a
room available on Saturday night.

4. LindaD: As an information person on the corner of First and Hemlock for
4 hours on Saturday during Plein Air & More, Linda witnesses frustration on
the part of families trying to use their cell phones (especially ATT) to
coordinate rendezvous. Elaine says she sees this often. We need to prepare
people for this. John suggested we promote our “Almost cell-free zone” .
George asked it we had citywide wireless internet, could people then use
their phones to email or skype or FaceTime.
