1. StephanieA: Stormy Weather Arts Festival was busy at Primary Elements Fri, Sat & Sun. JimK: Friday was slow till Icefire’s reception, then was very good – better than Saturday. GeorgeV: Overall traffic for the weekend seemed similar to last year, which was down from prior years. The new metal prints at George Vetter FotoArt were a hit – sold all but one. WendyH: Lodging was not full. Rooms were available all weekend. EricJ: Friday night’s Quickdraw sold out – 150 tickets. Saturday nights Curtis Salgado concert at Coaster Theatre sold out too. GeorgeV: Bidding at Quickdraw was less than robust – much like last year. Three live auction items did not get bids. Auctioneer John Fox was challenged to get/keep the attention of the crowd. The seating was at long tables and may have been more conducive for bidding if theater style during the auction. JimK: Quickdraw needs to be better sold as a fundraiser and not as a place to by art at half price. Find something that people can get behind and spend know it is for a good cause.

12. MistyK: The $128M school bond for a new district school failed by a 2 to 1 margin.

13. GeorgeV: The Chamber Marketing Committee is seeking feedback on what to call our sandcastle event. Because by design, it is turning into a three day event, the committee is suggesting it be called the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Weekend. Send your feedback to chamber at cbor.us.

14. GeorgeV: By preventing people from destroying Saturday’s sand sculptures, we could have them on Sunday. The tide only washes what is near the bottom of the sculptures. Most of the work could still be enjoyed on Sunday.

We will provide a special ID card to our subscribers so they can be identified by participating business. You won’t have to give any contribution to the theater, only a special deal to our subscribers, which may become your regular costumers! In return for your participation, the Coaster Theatre will promote your business and any of your special events that may benefit our subscribers. The Theater will utilize a press release, subscriber’s monthly letters, our special wall to recognize supporters, and announcements during our shows’ introduction.
