Reminder: Tomorrow is Wednesday and the WMM at 8am at Pizza a Fetta
(upstairs). Come a bit early to pick up your complimentary coffee at Bella
Espresso. Please bring your own cup.
Note1: Today, Tues, is National Night Out - a National effort between law
enforcement and local communities to promote community unity and
partnership in fighting crime - from 5-7pm at the City Park and Chamber.
Note2: Tonight, Tues, at 7pm is the monthly City Council meeting. Because
the Council Chambers is being used by the police in the homicide
investigation, the meeting will be held at the Tolovana Inn.
Note3: *Today, Tuesday, August 5 is the Farmer's Market: Dine alfresco and
enjoy the music!*
- Featuring guitarist, singer/songwriter *Bob Rice, AKA Bobcat Bob *will
be performing from 1 - 5pm. He has an extensive background in live
performance and studio work. Bob currently performs with the band
*MoZo,* as well as solo. Take some time to listen to the music!
- *Brett Willard *will be wowing the crowd with his magical talents.
- *Upper market cafe*: *Open from 1 - 5pm for your dining
pleasure, featuring Ofalafel and Casa **de Tamales. *
- Be sure to say hello to our newest vendor, *Scamocaway Creamery. *They
will be joining us this market with incredible goat cheese products. Vicki
Allenback has 17 years experience in animal husbandry and is the
"whisperer" for their herd of 41 goats, including Alpines, Saanens,
Toggenburgs and La Manchas. Kyleen Austin has been a cheese maker and
working with goats for over 13 years. They make chèvre, feta, ricotta,
gouda and an Italian farmer's cheese. Oh, and don't miss their Mexican
goat milk carmel!
- *Island's End Farm *will have a fresh batch of caraway sauerkraut,
flavored with Juniper Berries. The best sauerkraut I've ever tasted!
- Don't miss* Gales Meadow Farm's *booth*. *They are a *certified
organic grower *of a wide variety of heirloom vegetables and herbs.
Just the fragrance from their stall is enough to attract you, let alone
the incredibly amazing flavors!
- *Tolavana Arts Colony *and *The North Coast Food Web *will be in our
communuity booths this week.
- As usually, the spectacular *Cannon Beach Farmers Market Volunteers*
will be there, doing what they do best! Thank you is not enough, but *THANK
YOU *to Stacy, Bob N, Barb, Bob L, Sandi, Earl, Dick, Sara, David,
DeShawn, Samantha, Christina, Lee, Megan, Steve, Roy, Margaret, Jonathan,
Margaret and Daryl C. Alison, Lianne, Marti, Amy and Tommy.

1. JimP, The July Business After Hours is tonight Wednesday at 6pm with a

2. KathyK; The Haystack Holidays Committee currently consist of Margo
Dueber and Kathy. More members are wanted/needed. Please contact Margo

Chamber and get them into the hands of visitors while they are here.
3. JasonS:. The Cannon Beach Police Dept is having a "National Night Out"
Tues Aug 5th to coordinate with a national event/effort between law
enforcement and local communities - fighting crime together. 5-7pm City

4. JasonS: Chili Cook Off K-9 Fundraiser at Broadway Park Aug 9 from 4-8pm
- Auction, Prizes. Hosted by Helping Hands. Music by Bruce Smith. Donation
proceeds go to CB Police Dept K-9 program. $19k has been raised toward
goal of $25k.
5. GeorgeV: Acustica (World Music) will perform a free concert in the city
park Sunday Aug 3 from 2-4pm. Presented by the City and CB Property Mgmt.
6. MaryF .. Upcoming CCC Classes include *Unemployment Insurance* on Aug 19
and *Know Your Car* on Aug 5 & 7, For info on fall Community Education

7. JasonS: There have been three burglaries to vacation homes up on Ecola
Park Road in past two weeks. Please advise people to use timers to have
lights go on and off.
8. MikeM: The Food Pantry is losing use of its rooms at the Bible Church.
They need a location that has parking, is on ground floor, has power, is
approx 800 sq ft. A current option being sought is the kitchen at the
School gym. Suggested were the Emergency Preparedness location on 101 at
Tolovana and the empty building across from Surfcrest Market.
9. KathyK: There will be bus service on Labor Day for the first time. It
will be the regular Monday schedule. www.ridethebus.org. .
10. KathyK: Monday is Coast Guard Day. We have quite a few of these young
people and their families in the County. Welcome them.
11. JohnB: George Fox Univ comes to Cannon Beach each summer with their
Choral Conductors Workshop. They will be holding classes at the Community
Church starting Monday Aug 4, but their Friday concert will be at the North
Coast Fellowship in Seaside since our gym is not available this year.

12. MikeM: The City Manager search had 47 applicants. The group has been
narrowed down to 8. The Council will now decide which of the 8 will be
interviewed. It is hoped to hire by November.
13. GeorgeV: A visitor reported that they had spent 40 minutes (two
20-minute stints) waiting in line to get past a single construction project
