2. Three new people at today's meeting. Maxine is the manager at Puppy Love
(www.puppyloveoregon.com) and has been there for 9 years. She grew up in
Wisconsin and received a masters in Hospital Admin where she worked for 20
years. Brenna Visser (bvisser at dailyastorian.com) is the new reporter for
the Gazette, recently graduated from Western Washington in Bellingham with
a major in Journalism and a minor in French. She grew up in Wenatchee,
likes hiking, art, dancing, singing and micro breweries. Loves the beach
and is excited to be here. Chris Olson (colson at dailyastorian.com) is the
new sales rep for the Gazette. Chris grew up here, son of Brian and Barb of
Beachcomber Vacation Homes.

current and recent events. I started shooting in Cannon Beach in 1978 and
have gone back to those black and white negatives and begun scanning and
posting them. 1978-1983 are now up. 1984 should go up soon. Most photos are
keyworded so images can be found with the search feature on the site.

3. MaryBethC: Mary Beth Cottle is running for the South County Position on
the Clatsop Community College 7-member board. She recently moved to
Cannon Beach after 22 years as a teacher. "The community college offers
affordable, ongoing education for young and old".

5. ShawnaS: The current 4% Oregon unemployment rate is a record setting
number. Unemployment numbers are gathered by surveys of individuals.
Currently 800 people in Clatsop County are looking for work, while 82,300
Oregonians are looking for work. Not all these people are collecting
unemployment. Those collecting receive funds for 6 months max. Hourly wages
are on the rise. As an example, McDonalds now pays $11/hr.
