had record attendance. Cannon Beach received special attenion

5. MarkB: City Planner Mark Barnes, sitting in for the City's Public Works
Director, is seeking feedback from the business community and citizens
about summertime limited 3-hour parking downtown on Hemlock, 1st, 2nd & 3rd
Streets. A recent study on busy days showed that many cars parked in this
area are there for the day as employees are at work and beach goers are on
the beach. Much of the traffic downtown are cars looking for parking.
GeorgeV: George has observed as many as 8 cars using a single space in a

6. JasonS: A Memorial Event for Fallen Seaside Police Officer Jason
Goodding will feature the 2nd Annual CornHole Tournament June 17 at the
Seaside Elks Lodge. Live Music, Food, Beer Garden. Proceeds will go to a

public input sessions, the Parks and Trails Master Plan was completed and

occupy the old Fitness Center because of unforeseen cost in construction

begin married life in a tiny, 5th-floor walkup apartment in a Manhattan
brownstone. He’s a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and she has a far more

13. Kids Summer Camp at Coaster Theatre runs July 31 - Aug 11. $250 for
kids 8 and up. The Coaster Theatre Playhouse holds 2-3 Kidz camps each
year. Each camp focuses on three common aspects of theatre arts: acting,
singing and dancing. In addition to improving confidence and creativity,
campers are exposed to teamwork, respect and unlimited imagination while

15. The 50th Anniversary of the Oregon Beach Bill will be celebrated in
Cannon Beach on 5/13. Governor Brown will not be in attendance as
previously planned. Tad McCall, son of former Governor Tom McCall will be.
Cannon Beach will kick-off Oregon’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of
the signing of the Beach Bill on May 13 with a series of events and
activities including the creation of a sandcastle more than six-feet tall.
The Beach Bill was the landmark legislation passed by the Oregon
Legislature in 1967 assuring that all of Oregon’s beaches would remain

3. New at today's meeting: Arial Wolf grew up in Finley ND near the Red
River. Went to school in Minnesota and received a BA in Environmental
Studies with a minor in Political Science and Philosophy. Did research in
MN with fresh water ecology and birds. Got a job with HRAP about 9 years
ago and eventually became their volunteer Coordinator and Marine Educator.
Now lives in the Manzanita area and more recently has studied yoga. Has a
4yr old son. Appreciates being in Cannon Beach periodically and is very
grateful to be working with Aria Walker at the Cannon Beach Acupuncture &

5. MelodieC: Saturday was the first joint drill of our CERT (Citizen
Emergency Response Team) and our MRC (Medical Reserve Corps). "Tornado"
victims with very real looking injuries were rescued and triaged
(evaluated) by CERTs before MRCs moved in to address those tagged red for
immediate attention. Melodie gave a shout-out to CERT leader Paula Vetter
for the wonderful job she does. CERT and MRC are both volunteer groups
serving under our Police Department. Both groups are actively seeking new

18.  A bond issue in May will be looking for $1.9M to move the office and
landing area for Life Flight to an area of the airport that will save up to
20 minutes in response time.
