1. GeorgeV: Three finalists for City Manager have been selected by the City
Council. They will be invited to town for a community forum and interviews
by Council and staff. Nov 6 at 6pm at the Surfsand Ballroom is a community

finalists are Bruce St. Denis of Longboat Key, Florida, Peter M. Jankowski,
of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Kevin Greenwood, the one local candidate who

2. PatF: The October Business After Hours will be an Open House by Realtor
Pat Funk of an ocean front home at 1964 Pacific (next to Oswald West
Cabin). This Thursday Oct 19th from 5-7pm. Parking is tight. Carpooling is
suggested.
3. KevinL: Classes: Ready, Set, Start Your Business - November 1st in

4. JimP/CourtC/JaneBr: The 30th Stormy Weather Arts Festival is Nov 3-5. It
will include a Swanky Friday night Arts Benefit featuring artists and their
jewelry. Just added was Pam Juett, glass jewelry artist associated with
Icefire Glassworks. Included will be a sealed bid silent auction for
Vacation Packages. All at the Chamber Community Hall at 730pm, Saturday is
the Fashion Show at Coaster Theatre, Music throughout town and the
Spotlight Concert with Heels to the Hardwood at 8pm , Then the Blues, Brews
and BBQ event is on Sunday at the Chamber with a special collaboration brew
from Pelican Brewing and Public Coast Brewing. Tickets online at

5. KevinL: The 2018 Job and Career Fair will be Feb 21 at Patriot Hall at
Clatsop Comm College. Mark your calendar now.
6. CourtC/JimP/GeorgeV: US Representative Suzanne Bonamici was in town
yesterday for her last of 6 Fall Town Hall Meetings. At 515pm she met for a
half hour with invited area City Councilors at City Hall - approx 15
people. Then at 6pm for an hour with the community at large. She made an
opening statement, then drew numbers to see who would ask questions/make
comments. At 7pm she closed the Town Hall and stay for 15 minutes or so.
Approx 60 people attended. Watch CNN to get an idea of what was discussed.

8. New at today's meeting - Chris Breitmeyer is president of Clatsop
Community College. Chris can be reached at cbreitmeyer at clatsopcc.edu .
Chris says: "This is my second year as President at Clatsop and I am
excited for you to be part of our family. This is an amazing institution
and I encourage you to get involved in all that CCC has to offer, not only
the academic experiences, but also the service opportunities and social
activities that make this a truly special college". Chris was previously
involved in community colleges in St Louls MO and in Arizona. Clatsop CC
has 1400 enrolled students - half are 24 years old and younger. 60% are on

9. The first beach wheel chair was out 9 times in it's first week by
visitors to Cannon Beach whose only access to the beach would be a wheel
chair made for that purpose. There is now funding for a second chair.

10. KevanR: A promotional event video will be shot for Stormy Weather Arts
Festival. One was shot for Savor Cannon Beach and is available for use by

11. KariH/PookaR: Haystack Rock Awareness Program's annual End of Season
Celebration event will be held Oct 28th at City Hall. A silent auction will
be held. Donations as simple as a gift certificate to your business or an

12. GeorgeV: A memorial service for Tom Drumheller will take place Saturday
Oct 28 at 11am at the North Coast Fellowship in Seaside.
13. ID Protection Day - Oct 21, 10a-1p at Broadway Middle School Parking
Lot. Sponsored by Pacific Alarm, Wauna Credit Union and Seaside Chamber.

14. GeorgeV: Stephen Beus, an internationally acclaimed Steinway Concert
Pianist will play a free, 30-minute "Kid's Concert" on Friday, October
20th, 6pm, at Cannon Beach Community Church, located at 132 E. Washington,
in downtown Cannon Beach. This half-hour mini-concert will be an
interactive, "child-friendly" concert, free and open to the public,
especially younger kids and their parents or grandparents. He will perform
on the church's newly purchased Steinway grand piano.
15. JeneeP: The North Cost Chamber Orchestra will perform a free open
rehearsal of "Falling for Winter" Nov 7 at 630pm at the Cannon Beach
Community Church. Then the Concert on Nov 10 at 7pm at Clatsop Comm College
and again on Nov 12 at 3pm at Rockaway Beach Community Church. $10 adults,
$5 students, Under 12 free.
16. KevinL: America's SBDC Oregon (Small Business Development) has a new
web site at www.BizCenter.org <http://www.bizcenter.org/> . The Oregon
Small Business Development Center Network provides advising, training,
online courses and resources for businesses throughout the state. 19
conveniently-located Centers and 42 locations assist business people in
every aspect of business development and management.
17. CourtC: Westport Winery has purchased property in Seaside and will be
vacating their tasting room here in Cannon Beach. Great opportunity for
someone to step in.
