1. JoeM: New Tax Law Effects on Homeowners. 1. For homes bought before Dec
15, 2017, no change, For Home bought since, you may deduct interest on
mortgage debt up to $750K. ($375K is married filing jointly). 2. You may
deduct up to $10K ($5K if married filing jointly) for a combination of
property taxes and either state and local income taxes or sales taxes. 3.
Eliminates the deduction for interest on home equity debt. 4. You may
deduct the interest on mortgage debt up to $750K ($375K if married filing
jointly) on your primary home and a second home. 5. Only active duty member

2. KevanR: Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals posted on Facebook about Cannon
Beach's beach wheelchairs. Michelle says: :In just 2 days, we've currently
reached about 300,000 people; the post has been shared 4000 times, reacted
to by 2000 and 350 people have so far been moved enough to comment on the
post. This is rare (unheard of) for an account as small as ours!" You can

3. AaronH: For several years now, Portland Seminary (part of George Fox
University) has used Cannon Beach as part of their curriculum. They are in
town now staying at several venues including Ecola Creek Lodge, Waves Motel
and Hallmark Resort. www.pdxseminary.org.

4. The Coastal Community Festival is now planned for Sat May 12 instead of
Sat Apr 21 - still at the Chamber and at Sundance Lodge within Sea Ranch RV
Park. Poster and flyer artwork is a Bill Steidel original. The Festival is
an all day free family-friendly event sponsored by the City of Cannon Beach
that celebrates our coastal community.  It’s a fun and exciting day for the
whole family with music, arts and crafts, a safety fair, and food.  The
Festival is a fantastic opportunity for vendors, artists, traders, and
other organizations to sell their products and interact with the community.

5. JimK: Savor Cannon Beach is this weekend starting tomorrow (Thursday).
Tickets for all or any events can be purchased online or at the doors.
Saturday from 1-5pm is the annual Wine Walk. More info at

6. GregS: Paul and Margo Dueber, Bobcat Bob Rice and Cameron Gates-Lira
comprise "Thistle and Rose". The group presented a tribute concert with the
music of Bill Steidel at Coaster Theatre Saturday to a near full house. It

CERT recruits graduate by playing the part of a victim? March 17 from 8am
to 1230pm at the Arch Cape Fire Station. Your help would be greatly

without you. You’re welcome to bring family, friends, and co-workers, just
give me a count when you rsvp. This is a great service to your community.
The most important thing to bring (read wear) is OLD clothing. Moulage
makeup can stain - esp the fake blood. If you have torn pants or shirt,
please wear them. Regardless of weather, please wear closed toe shoes. We
will provide coffee, and various snacks. This is a great chance to learn
what CERT is all about and to make your contribution to public safety.

This event is funded by lodging taxes collected in Arch Cape by the County
and granted to the Chamber to promote the area.

12. SheriR: The annual Boy Scouts Hawaiian Dinner will be Apr 21 at the
Legion.

13. GeorgeV: Portland Piano International SOLO presents a free, hour-long
performance by Rising Star pianist Xiaohui Yang at Cannon Beach Community
Church Saturday (Mar 10) at 7pm. Ms. Yang has performed at Carnegie Hall,
and in some of the finest performing arts centers around the world. She
will perform on the newly acquired 7-foot concert Steinway Grand Piano. Her
full program includes works by Schubert, Ravel, Bartok and Chopin.

on February 10th at Clatsop Community College and this year we had 74 women
who attended!   It was a day of information and inspiration for taking

your group again next year.

Interim Chamber Director Jim Paino has been chosen as the new Chamber
Director.

bird to be put on the endangered species list, titled “The Enigmatic
Marbled Murrelet and Oregon’s Marine Reserves”. The presentation will be

Seaside Library on March 21st at 6pm.

13. March 2-4 is the Sharing the Coast Conference at the Chamber Community
Hall by CoastWatch and Northwest Aquatic Marine Educators in partnership
with the Haystack Rock Awareness Program. $20 students, $30 members, $45
non-members. Connect with fellow coast lovers while having fun learning
