1. GeorgeV: Finding no way to be assured that changes would result in
workforce/affordable housing, City Council decided last night to not move
forward with zoning ordinance changes that would have allowed multi-family
3-story construction and eased up such parking requirements in C-1
(commercial) zones. See RJ's Gazette article at
http://www.dailyastorian.com/CBG/news/20180905/affordable-housing-proposal-amendments-are-tabled

2. "A Man with Standards" John O'Hurley will perform this Sat Sept 8th at
730pm at Coaster Theatre. This is the annual fundraiser for Coaster
Theatre, $75 includes appetizers and beverages prior to the show. There
will also be a silent auction. John is in the musical Chicago on Broadway,
host of the National Dog Show, played J Peterman on Seinfeld and much more.

3. JimP: Sponsored by Travel Oregon, a North Coast Tourism Summit is Tues
Sept 25 in Garibaldi. The purpose of the summit is to create a shared
vision for tourism along the North Coast. All are invited to help shape the
future of our tourism. More info at http://industry.
traveloregon.com/industry- resources/destination-
development/oregon-tourism- studio-communities/north-
coast-destination-management- studio/ . Cannon Beach has contributed $10k
to this effort.

4. GeorgeV: As the rabbit population in Cannon Beach grows, so does the
concern expressed by some citizens about the downside of these cute little
furry creatures. The City Council heard last night from a Tolovana resident
concerned about the health issues with so much "manure" in her yard. She
wants the City to do something about this growing problem. Citizens are
free to trap rabbits in their yards. They are not protected. It is illegal
to discharge any type of firearm within the City.

5. JeanieMc: A small group of Costa Ricans will be in town Tuesday Sept 11
as part if their month long visit through the Pacific Northwest.

4th at 7pm at Coaster Theatre

benefit/memorial concert in memory of Tom Drumheller, with all the proceeds
to go to the Cannon Beach Food Pantry. $10 at the door. No advanced ticket

Drumheller. Last year, when he played just after Tom's passing, he said he

burgers and conversation at 164 Sunset Blvd. If it's raining we will be
inside the fire department bays right across the driveway. Our K9 Gunner
and his handler Cpl. Bowman will do a K9 demonstration. It's a great
opportunity to get to know your Cannon Beach officers."

13. The City of Cannon Beach awards $75,000 per year to deserving
