GeorgeV: After placing an order for a computer online this past week, George received a call from the merchant saying that the shipping address could not be verified. The merchant suggested calling the 800 number on the back of the card and ask to have the shipping address added. But the card, a US Bank Visa Debit, could only have one address associated with it and that is to be the billing address. The computer company only ships by UPS and UPS will not deliver to a PO Box. But the credit card people only send by US Mail and for that in Cannon Beach, you need a PO Box. This is not an unusual dilemma for CB residents and normally online vendors are able to verify (maybe they just risk it) a shipping address.
