JohnB: Last Friday the Cannon Beach Chorus performed John Rutter's Gloria and Carols
from Many Lands at Cannon Beach Community Church to a packed house.
This followed performances the week before in Warrenton and Nehalem. The Nehalem concert was a Manzanita Tornado benefit which raised $900. Each concert included an intermission where the chorus mixed with the crowd in an adjoining room filled with holiday cookies and snacks. At the end of each concert, the 60 member chorus surrounded the crowd and sang while John led the crowd in Silent Night - very touching. SarahD/JasonS: Saturday's Festival of Trees at Seaside Convention
Center to benefit Providence Hospital was once again a great event.
Nearly 20 elaborately decorated trees, laden with benefits for
purchasers drew approx 1500 people for the open house viewing Saturday
afternoon where they could vote for their favorite. That award went to
the Seaside Downtown Development Assn. Ticketed guests arrived in the
evening for the gala dinner and auction. One tree went for $4200. A wine
tree went for over $3000. Proceeds will assist the Diagnostic Imaging
department in the purchase of new 3D Tomosynthesis breast mammography
technology. This state-of-the-art technology will aid in our community's
fight against breast cancer, offering earlier detection of breast
cancer for patients on the North Coast.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">2.

Last Saturday was the annual Lamplighting at Sandpiper Square. A very
nice crowd gathered for some Holiday music and cheer. Of course, Bill
Steidel sang his "Christmas in our Hometown" accompanied by Paul and
Margo Dueber. Santa made the scene too.
