Reminder: Tomorrow is Wednesday and the WMM at 8am at Pizza a Fetta
(upstairs). Coffee is courtesy of Pizza a Fetta and Bella Espresso. Thank
you James!. Come a bit early to pick up your coffee downstairs at Bella.
Bring your own coffee cup.

Note1: Tonight is the regular monthly City Council Meeting at 700pm at City

Note2: *Today is Tuesday and the Farmer's Market in Midtown (*Photos at
http://gvfa.smugmug.com/Events/CannonBeachFarmersMarket*)*.  The prepared
food and live music are open from 1-5pm and the vendors are open from 2-5pm.
However, many vendors are ready to sell at 1pm. The Market will continue on
Tuesday's through September 29th at the corner of  Hemlock and E. Gower in
the City Hall parking lot.

   - *Cole Carr,* a singer songwriter from Portland, Oregon will be
   entertaining us with his blend of Folk and Pop music.  Stop by and enjoy.
   *Taste of Place*, an extension of OSU will be demonstrating preparation
   of a recipe.  You can learn, taste and pick a bottle of spice.  All for
   free!
   *Brett Willyard *will be performing his magic in the upper lot. He is
   amazing. Kids and adults are awed by his performance.
   *Upper Market Cafe*: *Open from 1 - 5pm for your dining
   pleasure, featuring Ofalafel, **Casa **de Tamale**s,* *Hello Waffle
*and *The
   Wine Shack.* *Come dine alfresco and** enjoy the music in the upper lot.
   Then head to the lower lot and purchase fresh grown produce, no
hormone **added
   meats,* *cheese, eggs, baked goods, artisan products, flowers and more!*

   - As usual, the spectacular *Cannon Beach Farmers Market Volunteers* will
   be there, doing what they do best!  Thank you is not enough, but *THANK
   YOU *to Jason, Jasmin, Jackson, Matt, Stacy, Bob N, Barb,  Penny, Bob L,
   Sandi, Dick, David,  Christina, Andrew Lee, Steve,  Jonathan, Margaret

of $4000 is Oct 1. A year long project to be shared with the community by a
visual artist, musician, writer, or performer who has a connection to the
Cannon Beach Community may apply.

3. MaryK: BOLI (OR Bureau of Labor & Industry) is offering a free seminar
on Prevailing Wage Rate at CCC Towler Hall Tuesday Oct 6 from

8. CourtC: There are still Sandcastle Books available for sale. If your
business would like to sell them for the Chamber, contact
courtc at cannonbeach.org. Retail $49. The Chamber will reimburse for card
processing fees.

9. CourtC: The next issue of Portrait Magazine will feature a 14 page
spread on Cannon Beach.

10. WendyH: A Community Potluck will take place at the Chamber Community
Hall Sept 3 at 6pm <marketing at coastertheatre.com>

11. CourtC: Van Nordquist and Nancy Wesson are the latest hires at the Info
Ctr. Stop in to say hi. Consider spending some time there yourself
volunteering. 35,000 people have come thru the Info Ctr already this year.

12. CourtC: Room tax revenues for Jan-Jun were up 17% over last year.

13. JimK: Icefire Glassworks' annual Seconds sale begins Saturday Sept 5th

14. GeorgeV: The City Parks Committee and OR State Parks has again asked
the Chamber and the community to educate our guests about leaving items on
the beach. Chairs, toys, cans, bottles, etc are to leave the beach with the
people who brought them.

15. GeorgeV: Matt Rippee of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Dept has
informed us that the 11-acre, John Yeon Natural Site at Chapman Point,
although wholly owned by the State, is off limits to visitors. This natural
preserve restriction was part of the purchase agreement in 1995 but has not
been enforced till recently. The property is signed. Existing trails are
being filled in and planted over.

16. KevinL: This year's Forestry Tour has been moved to October 8th due to
the dry conditions. Forestry comprises 30% of the economy of Clatsop
County.

17. GeorgeV: The City's Barrel (Container) Program will continue. At the
same time, the City will grow the volume of supplies for those who do not
take time to fill their own barrel with emergency supplies. Learn more at
